As you step into the serene and bustling streets of Surry Hills, the aroma of soy sauce and sizzling tempura wafts through the air. It leads you to a hidden gem, a traditional Japanese izakaya restaurant named "Goryon San", serving delectable dishes for over five years.

In this photography project, we capture the essence of "Goryon San" - a charming and authentic Japanese restaurant in the heart of Sydney's vibrant Surry Hills. The restaurant boasts a unique blend of traditional izakaya-style cuisine with a modern twist, making it a go-to spot for foodies and locals.
Our goal was to capture the natural and vibrant look of the restaurant and its food, achieved using a traditional lighting method, a softbox. The styling of the photographs showcases all the collateral of the restaurant, including their beautifully designed napkins, patrons, table settings, and restaurant background. Through our lens, we aimed to transport our audience to the heart of "Goryon San" and make them feel like they were a part of the dining experience.
